About Us

All of this was started in 1996 when Peter Geiser first came accross an article detailing the contents of mineral waters and their health benefits. The first version of Mineral Waters of the World was a simple page with about 40 waters where a JavaScript was used to sort the water by content. At that time, there was nearly no information to be found on the web, so the web page stayed as it was for a while.

In spring 2000 he read about water testing events and water bars opening. Water seemed to become a trend. But which waters? He decided to implement a rating system and went on for a complete redesign of the whole page.

In October 2005 the entire page was handed over to the newly founded Pongü Text & Design GmbH. Of course, the page continues to exist along the same principles.

Since the first beginnings, the number of waters in this guide increased steadily. (By the way: if you find information about bottled waters that are not in our guide: please send them to us! We are grateful for any information, be it contents, labels, ratings, whatever.): info@mineralwaters.org

Listing in my water guide is free. Our aim is to create the largest database of bottled waters in the world and a valuable resource in finding your favourite water.
